Unrefined shea butter is solid at room temperature. Rubbing it in your hands for a few seconds to warm it up and make it easier to spread.

Slather yourself with shea butter as you would with a full-body moisturizer especially during the winter months when skin tends to be at its driest. Rub until it’s fully absorbed. For the face, it may be best to use at night as it can be tricky to apply makeup over it. Wherever you’re applying it though, remember a little goes a long way.

Shea butter works as a great sealant for hair by locking in moisture thus protecting it from dryness and damage. Use it especially on the ends of your hair to help prevent split ends.

Soften and hydrate the skin around your nail bed by rubbing in a small amount of shea butter on your cuticles.
6. After sun or beach exposure to replenish skin
Thanks to the vitamin A and E in unrefined shea butter, it can be used to sooth sunburn, dry patches, windburn and abrasions. Simply apply a small amount to affected areas.

Unrefined shea butter is perfect to use as an eye cream. Use a tiny amount under the eyebrow and under eye area at night.

Colds and flus and frequent nose blowing can cause the skin on the nose area to be chapped and exposed. Rub a little unrefined shea butter as and when needed to sooth and heal the area.

Massage daily for about a minute or two on scars. The rubbing action helps stimulate blood flow and drives the shea butter and its properties deeper to aid in scar healing.

After giving your baby a bath, gently massage unrefined shea butter all over their body. With no artificial scent or added chemicals, your baby’s sensitive skin will not feel irritated.
12. By itself on the lips or in homemade lip balms
Chapped lips and raw unrefined shea butter go hand in hand. Apply a little dab in the morning and the evening to make sure lips stay soft and smooth.
